Weekly Healthy-ish Meal Plan 2/17/2013

Last weekend, due to a stressful weekend, I failed to post my meal plan. You didn’t miss much. We barely cooked and I indulged in way too much fast food. Let’s just say I am paying for it right now.

Not this week.

This week we are trying out some new recipes. We have been eating a lot of the same old stuff. I am hoping that a couple of these new meals that I found will make their way into a regular rotation.

Monday – Crock Pot Smoked Sausage, Green Beans and Potatoes
Make sure to read the instructions carefully on this one. It seems, by looking through the comments, that some commenters just didn’t read them carefully. We are also going to use some redskin potatoes and chicken broth (instead of the water suggested) to give it a little more flavor. This seems like a simple recipe. Hopefully it turns out. We LOVE smoked sausage.

Tuesday – Burgers and fries.

Wednesday – Sirloin Steak with Dijon Port Sauce

Thursday – Grilled Chicken, Flavored Noodles and Veggies

Friday – Skinny Mexican Style Chicken and Cornbread Casserole

Saturday – Healthified Chicken Tortilla Casserole
Check the comments on this one too. I am hoping that this will turn out well. It looks so good!

I have a tip for anyone checking out new recipes online. Make sure to pay close attention to the comments section. People like to be brutally honest when it comes to commenting on recipes on someone’s blog. You bloggers know how it is.

I have found some great looking recipes, only to read the comments and see that people actually did not like the recipes. I have also found some helpful comments that show some variations for the recipes. I love experimenting and changing things up a bit and I appreciate those comments.

What are you eating this week?
