While many of you will be heading to BlogHer this week, I will be heading some place else. Some place that is magical and full of wonder. The Weidens will be invading Disney World next week! But, here is a little kicker, we are not just going to visit Disney World, I will also be dancing there. Crazy, I know.
I have mentioned here a few times before that I got back into dancing after taking almost 16 years off from it. I missed it desperately and I feel like myself again now that I am back. Surprisingly, when I came back I was also invited to be part of a select group of dancers, Glass City Class, to travel to Florida and perform at Disney World. I am pretty excited about it. It means that I am still pretty darn good.
Lucky for me, I have done this before, but I was doing it between the ages of 14-17 and my body (and stamina) is not what it used to be, so I am slightly terrified. I know it will all be ok, but I am stressed out.
The most awesome part is that this will be my children’s first time at Disney and I am so excited for them. I won’t be with them the whole entire time due to the fact that I will be with my dance group, but just the fact that we are able to take our kids on this amazing trip is just overwhelming to me.
I am so thankful for being able to dance again. Being able to dance with this amazing group of dancers. Being chosen to dance with this amazing group of dancers in Disney World.
Also, I am very thankful for my parents. They will be joining Dave and the kids on the trip down to Disney. They will be driving together while I am flying with the dance group and they are also going to be using their time share so that they can all stay in it together, while I am staying with the group.
Yep, I get some kid free time.
If anyone is in the Orlando area on July 29th and July 30th we will be performing in Downtown Disney on the Dock Stage at 5:15 PM both days. Look for Glass City Class and I will be there!
Or just keep an eye out for these chipmunk cheeks…
Have you ever been to Disney? Do you have any awesome tips for us?
